Let’s start with the basics. Mounts in Warhammer Online (WAR) are obtainable at Rank 20 from the merchants in your Realm’s capital city. For Order, this means Altdorf in the War Quarters (southwest area), while for Destruction this means the Inevitable City near the Soul Forge (in the center of the map). A few of the Chapter camps have them available as well, but those locations sell them for all the races and classes. Mounts cost 15 gold currently, and require no skill to ride. They take three seconds to mount onto, can be placed on your hotbar, and provide a 50% run speed bonus. You cannot use any abilities while mounted, until you have dismounted or are forcibly knocked off by attacks from enemies (this occurs around half the time you are hit).
Mounts are race-specific, with each race having their own unique mount. The Magus, of course, is given its signature disc in a glowing form to ride upon. In all, there are seven mounts available right now. You can’t buy mounts for a race other than your own to ride, and they are not able to be traded between players.

Special Mounts
Additionally, the Recruit-A-Friend program allows you to gain a powerful 70% run speed War Gryphon at six referrals as an Order player, and a reptilian one as a Destruction player. for all the characters on your account on all servers. It appears in your mailbox as any other special reward does such as Collector’s Edition faces.
